This was a church that was quite familiar to both Peter & Minnie. It's located on one side of a square on the East Side of Redruth where many of the miners & tradespeople lived.
This pub is only a few short blocks from the family store. There was a pub on this site when Peter and Minnie were young, and they probably hosted a few pints before coming to America.
The road to the left of the pub leads to what was the family store in the 1800's The photo on the right is the start of the East End block where both stores were.
The Bray family had a small store at # 13 East End Street. About 20 to 30 years ago the shop was converted to an bi-level apartment. The pinkest 2 story in the middle of the center photo was the Bray shop.
This is how the Dawe Fruit & Greens shop at # 79 East End St. looks today. In the 1800's the family lived above the shop. The shop was leased, as was the living quarters.
